Titanic Science Day

5th Apr 2016

Our class enjoyed a great day filled with science experiments. We joined our partner school, Ballyvester PS, at Donaghadee Community Centre to take part in a science show with a Titanic theme; we discovered how to make our own "rockets" and which materials would make the best boat.

Later, in our own investigations with a little help from our teachers, we discovered how to send morse code, what happens when you mix salt and water, why pulleys are so important on ships, and how to make a "slushie".

We also worked with our friends from Ballyvester to build our own Titanic models from junk materials.

We had a wonderful day out as you can see from some of our photos, and we are looking forward to visiting Titanic Belfast next week with our friends from Ballyvester PS.
